SOND™ is a tech start up focused on crafting a premium experience for those who struggle falling asleep. I was brought on as one of the three original content producers.
My Role
As is par for the course for start ups, team members have to be adaptable; having to stretch all of their skills in order to execute whatever is needed for the good of the product. This means I was not only using my background in music to produce, mix, and master the highest quality of audio, but I was also using my creative writing background to write episodes and copy. While in the role, I also grew into skills of market research, graphic design, and video editing to help the content flourish.

SOND Asleep
Co-created with Myron Layese, “SOND Asleep” is a collection of three scripted podcasts meant to intrigue listeners while also soothing them to sleep. Released on third party platforms, SOND Asleep was a way for us to push SOND's premium content and funnel users to the eventual release of the app.
Always on the quest to create something fresh and innovative, Myron and I crafted a meta narrative surrounding the podcast to tie each of the shows together and captivate long time fans of narrative based podcasts. This wasn't just a sleep podcast, it was a sleep experience, and both of us wanted to give it the respect and attention needed to execute that vision.

Have you ever wondered where stories come from? How thoughts of kings, creatures, and quests entered the minds of so many to the point where they were immortalized in ink and stone. The true origin comes from before parchment, chisels, and wax; in the nebulous roads between settlements where merchants and travelers whisper to each other, keeping their voices low lest they aren’t as alone as they believe. This is where storytelling was born. This is how they were meant to be heard. This is Word of Mouth: a premium storytelling ASMR experience for the lovers of humanity’s most well kept tales.

Hypnopaedia LIT 101
Stories have been told since the dawn of man, inspired by everything the human experience has to offer. There are epics spanning generations, hero’s journeys full of adventure and heart, thrilling mysteries that grip readers until their final moments. All of these stories help us reflect on our lives in their own way, but what about the lives that made them possible? These artifacts take a look at the lived experiences of the authors that breathe life into these stories to see exactly how much truth is injected into the fictional.

Calling all ttrpg fans! “Bed Time Roleplaying Game”, or BTRPG, takes the lush world building of tabletop roleplaying games, settings, and archetypes and puts it in listener’s nightly routine. With short stories tailored to help listeners fall asleep immersed and inspired, any fan of fantasy, sci-fi, horror and more will love this unique take on sleep sound.

Vent Sesh
Babbling. Yapping. Chatting. A pastime meant for coffee shops, dinners, and long drawn out phone calls with your best friend. Vent Sesh is a role play podcast where each episode the listener’s friend calls them with a rant about a brand new, strange fun fact they’ve learned that week. Packed with personality in everything form its soundscapes to its narrator, Vent Sesh will be there for listeners when their friends are away.

Pinned
Inspired by my love of Pinterest and an experiment to see the limits of AI generated voices, Pinned was one of the first shows I made at SOND (alongside Word of Mouth). A collection of guided meditations inspired by the many “aesthetics” and “cores” on the app, Pinned was my way of nailing down pacing, mix levels, and a writing style for future works. Even though I ultimately decided to forego the AI voices and consider this series to be more of a “demo run”, I like to include it to share exactly how much I grew throughout working at SOND.
